I am such a patient customer.. haha

"Thanks for your patients, your call is very important to us.. the customer representative will be with you shortly.."
This sentense has been repeated at least 20 times tonight when I was trying to reach the customer service for my cingular ( old AT&T) cellphone. Since I am making a trip to Toronto Canada this coming weekend, I just want to know if my cell phone plan covered the services in Canada.
( Although it's not my first time to Canada in the past three years, somehow the last visit to Niagara Falls made me feel that I might be able to make phone calls within my cell phone plan when I am in Canada. Otherwise roaming can be expensive...)

So, here I am, second time attempt, dial 611 to the customer service line. I actually tried to dial them once last night, but this was what I got....
" We are sorry for the delay, we are currently experiencing a very high call volume... your expected waiting time can be greater than 20 minutes". That "20 minutes" scared the hell out of me and pushed me to make the decision-----> hung up the phone right away!

Tonight, <1 day to the trip, I tried again, and yes, I got the same response. I decided to pull out my hands-free head set so I can wait and do other stuff at the same time. And then....
After 20 minutes --> I was still waiting. ok, it just proved that your prediction was correct.
After 30 minutes --> I was still waiting and started to feel dizzy from listening to the repeated commerical they provided.
AND YES!! someone answered my phone call at the 35th minute. and guess what?!! This is what he said after hearing my "chief complain": " Excuse me, Madam, I am the internet wireless technical support, I can't get the access to your account information. Do you mind holding for another 5 minutes? I will transfer you to our customer support department."
WHAT?!!!! So, after 35 minutes of waiting to be answered, I actually talked the person for only like.. 2 minutes and then moved directly back to the waiting route. Oh my...

So, after another 15 minutes of waiting, I FINALLY got the hold to the right person who can assit me. And since I've been waited for so long, I kinda just dumped all of my questions to them. ( which is more then I really planned to ask.. haha.. well, since I might want to upgrade my plan to get a new phone some day in the near future, might as well.. right? ) And what you are going to say is... well, that's WHY we all have to wait in the line for so long since all of the customers will be just like me.. LOL

Anyways, after 1 hour 7 minutes and 8 seconds, I finished my phone call with Cingular Wireless customer service. At this moment, my phone was low in battery cuz it started with half way battery. But, think about this: what if I didn't notice my low battery and the battery actually died before I reach the customer service after 50 minutes of waiting? LOL.... I will switch to other cell phone carriers the first thing tomorrow.. That was a FUN experience.
