Another Friday night buried in dental preclinic

I am so deadly tired..... geez
I know it's Friday night, I should have a life somewhere OUTSIDE of the dental school, but.. (SIGN). After glancing through the workload for next week, I know I will be a piece of dead meat again by the end of next friday... "Better use this Friday night wisely" is the only thing I remembered this morning when I stepped out my apt.
So, here I am, being in that building from 9am-10:30pm today. Not too happy...
I know I should get used to the dental student life by now, and indeed, I am...
However... tonight, when I was sitting in front of my own bench trying so hard to use all kinds of tools to dig out pieces of stubborn amalgam.. I know I can't take this anymore, I am so going to use my bur to dig a hole on someone's face... GRRRRR....

So... to make this long story short, we (D2s) is going to have a practical on complex amalgam restoration next tuesday. I don't know how much you know about dentistry, but when your teeth get really bad that you miss the whole crown, and you
don't have $$ for the porcelain or gold crown. You can have the choice to build up a "amalgam crown" to save your teeth. That's what we will be tested on next tuesday; to build up the crown with amalgam.
Ok, this in not the point.. the reason why I was so mad tonight was related to some stupid upper classmates who happened to sell their extra "exercise teeth" on eBay last year... It might not seem too unreasonable for you since we paid for our exercise teeth in tuition, why can't we sell them? But the thing is, the school somehow found out about this "unforgivable event", and now they refused to provide us extra teeth to practice before practicals.. They want us to dig out the amalgam and reuse the old teeth we already had.
A good amalgam filling can last in a person's mouth for the whole life time, how the hell do they expect us to cut those rock hard amalgam out when we only have limited time to practice?!! so annoying.... thanks to those jerks who ruin our system...

That's what I've been doing for part of tonight, using different shapes of burs to cut amalgam efficiently. And, the result was.... I had amalgam debris flying all over my head, my hair, my face, and I believed I also inhaled some of them. And the amalgam +water solution leaked all over my lab coats, my pants, the floor, and my fake patient's cheek. Everywhere...stained black.. really messy...

That new system of giving out exercise teeth just pissed me off, I am sorry to spread out this anger up here, to everyone. I guess you can say that I am a little overreaction, could be from the upcoming horrible week, or the skip of dinner tonight, or simply, just the need of some sleep. ok.. I better go to sleep now then.. sorrie for the crap.
